Museum

The Epworth Historical Society functions to organize, catalogue, maintain, and display the artifacts that are the story of Epworth, beginning in 1894. A visit to the Elizabeth Truxell Museum, located on the second floor of the Hotel, reveals a treasure trove of reminders of the evolution of the assembly from its earliest days to the present. It is also a rich resource for those doing research on the history of their cottages, programs at Epworth, or other aspects of Epworth through time.

Giving to the Epworth Historical Society

Museum Membership Admission into the Museum is free. Annual memberships to the Historical Society are available for $25.00 ($26.80 if paid online) and support the day-to-day operation of the museum and historical sites on the grounds. Memberships are obtained at the museum and can be charged to a cottage account. Contributions to the Historical Society, over and above membership fees, provide for important, unfunded facilities upgrades and special programs.

Military Artifacts – We are looking for any Epworth related military service items to add to the museum’s military service room. Help us tell the story and honor those Epworthians who have served and those who are presently serving our country.

Epworth Treasures – Please think twice before you decide to throw away any “old stuff.” These items could be Epworth historical treasures. Contact the museum if you have any items to donate. We would also like to copy any old photos you may have that are related to Epworth.

Volunteers – Volunteers are always welcomed and needed at the Museum.
